What is it
Midi Acker was invented to receive the data from Prosopo and convert it to MIDI and DMX formats so that Prosopo can make sound and light.
Data processing
Some controls were added so that the sound frequency and note range can be adjusted along with the detection threshold and note duration.
Various play modes i.e. 'Distance is Note', 'Pad is Note' & 'Synth Mode' are selectable. You can also select the output MIDI channel.
Finally, because I became interested in creating sounds from data I embedded a ‘Play Word’ function.

The hardware
Midi Acker is built around an Arduino MEGA and incorporates a HC05 / HC06 Bluetooth module, an MAX485 TTL to RS485 level converter and a 2x16 character LCD display.
The future
At some point I plan to add some additional buttons to incorporate functionality of recording a pattern of data and playing it back in a loop where its tempo and frequency can be modified. It might also be useful if it too had CV Gate IN/OUT
